Clear is taking over the world

Yesterday when I was driving to Joann's I was behind this.
It's a CLEAR advertising truck. It has a dining room and living room set up behind those clear Plexiglas walls. Complete with lights. So I am thinking that its pretty cool, they are saying 'See how clearly it works? CLEAR IN YOUR HOME.' Yay me, I get it! :)

Until I turn the next corner and I see this. See the circle I put in... that is a MAN (well his head in the circle!) and he on a laptop! He totally wobbled and almost fell off the couch when they turned this corner!

OMG! Now I am a bit disgusted and I have no idea why.
Does anyone else feel like Clear and Cricket are taking over the world?

Life Lessons

I got a forward in my email today and while I hate mucking up email boxes with junk mail I love this one. I have seen it before so here it is. Minus all the junk about sending it on to everyone you have ever emailed. J

WORDS TO LIVE BY:

ONE. Give people more than they expect and do it cheerfully.

TWO. Marry a man/woman you love to talk to. As you get older, their conversational skills will be as important as any other.

THREE. Don’t belive all you hear, spend all you have or sleep all you want.

FOUR. When you say, ‘I love you,’ mean it.

FIVE. When you say, ‘I’m sorry,’ look the person in the eye.

SIX. Be engaged at least 6 months before you get married.

SEVEN. Believe in love at first sight.

EIGHT. Never laugh at anyone’s dreams. People who don’t have dreams don’t have much.

NINE. Love deeply and passionately. You might get hurt but it’s the only way to live completely.

TEN. In disagreements, fight fairly. No name calling.

ELVEN. Don’t judge people by their relatives.

TWELVE. Talk slowly but think quickly.

THIRTEEN. When someone asks you a question you don’t want to answer, smile and ask, ‘Why do you want to know?’

FOURTEEN. Remember that great love and great achievements involve great risk.

FIFTEEN. Say ‘bless you’ when you hear someone sneeze.

SIXTEEN. When you lose, don’t lose the lesson.

SEVENTEEN. Remember the three R’s: Respect for self; Respect for others; and Responsibility for all your actions.

EIGHTEEN. Don’t let a little dispute injure a great friendship.

NINETEEN. When you realize you’ve made a mistake, take immediate steps to correct it.

TWENTY. Smile when picking up the phone, the caller will hear it in your voice.

TWENTY- ONE. Spend some time alone.

Grayson and his Papa

When I was a kid my dad and I had a decent relationship. I wanted to be close but many things led to that not being the case.
As I got older things got more strained. After I got married we didn't speak for over 3 years. I was just done. One day I realized that life was short and if I didn't reach out we would probably never talk again. Ever. He is just not the kind of guy to put his heart out there first.

I am really glad that I called. We have been closer since I called that day than we have ever been in my life. He has been honest and real with me when I needed him to be and he has put himself out there in ways I never thought he would.

Now as I watch him with my son I am so thankful that I picked up the phone. He is so loving with Grayson and just enjoys playing with him. Last week when we were in San Diego visiting, I wish I had a picture, my dad got down on the floor! and played with G and his trail set. So cute.

That's the two of them hamming it up. Grayson loves his Papa. Now if I could just entice Papa to move a little closer...

San Diego - LONG post

Last week we piled all of our stuff into our mini- van and headed the 16+ hours south to San Diego. Yes, I know. We are Nuts! We left right before bed time hoping that it would be easier for G and whoever wasn't driving (me) to sleep. It was a little rough with Grayson waking up every 2 hours to fuss and cry. He wanted "OUT mama" Or "hold you" was another favorite, which was followed by "hold hands!" when I said I couldn't hold him. He would go back to sleep only to wake up again a few hours later. It made for a very exhausting night for all of us. But we made it.

We went to Zack's sister Melissa's house first so Grayson could get some wiggles out with Allie!

They had a great time playing together. They have the best relationship. Its quite amazing to watch them together.

After Melissa's house we headed to my Dad's house where we were staying. We spent the rest of the evening hanging out with my dad and Sharon (his GF) having dinner and chatting.

Friday we hung around the house most of the day because Grayson woke up with a 100* fever.
It eventually went up to 103.5 and then broke. (It came and went for a few days with no other symptoms.) Then in the evening we met up with my first boyfriend Tom, his girlfriend and her kids and his mom and step dad. I have stayed in contact with his mom for most of the time since we broke up when I was 16. It was great to see him, since its been such a long time. Though it made me feel really old. :)
here is us back in the day and us now.

Saturday we went to Poway Lake for an early morning torture hike. It was lovely but got very hot! Zack and I both decided as lovely as SD is, we DO NOT miss the heat!

After our hike we went to one of my "new" favorites le Peep in Poway for breakfast. Yum. If you have not been there you really should check it out if you are in the area. The eggs Benedict is fabulous!

Sunday we to the Avocado Festival in Fallbrook in the morning before we went over to our family friends the Bergener's house for Easter dinner "observed". Its always fun to be around them. They love life and being around the babies. We had an Easter basket hunt with everyone there getting a rather large basket of goodies. It was very fun. It makes me sad that I am not closer. I have such great memories of being with them in high school.

I met their son Alex in Health class our junior year of HS. We became fast friends and were inseperable for years through all the drama of my boyfriends and his cancer. He is the reason Zack and I ended up together. He was the best man in our wedding. We love him. And his family too. It was very sad that he was not at our Easter celebration. We talked on the phone but we missed having him at the table with us. Anyway, I used my dinosaur film camera for those pics and they need to be processed.

Monday we went with my Dad to the San Diego Wild Animal Park.
Grayson had so much fun seeing all the animals.

I loved the butterfly jungle.
My only sadness was that the monorail is GONE from the WAP. What kinda $h!t is that?! I demand they replace it! (I'll keep you posted on how that works out for me)

Tuesday we had a lovely beach day at my favorite beach- Del Mar. We parked at 20th st. It was a perfect temp with a cool breeze. The best beach day I can remember. That is what I miss from SD, beyond the people, I miss the beach. The beach makes me feel whole. Makes my hearts wounds heal. Makes me see light where its dark, and breathe when I gasp.
It was a great day until I realized I had lost my 3/4 carat diamond earring somewhere on the beach. We went back later to see if we could find it {ya right!} We also got a parking ticket! Oooi. Oh well.

Wednesday we packed and said our goodbyes. We had a lovely dinner with Zack's mom and sister and her family. It was sad to leave but I am happy to be home. I missed my bed.

And now that I feel like I just wrote a "My Summer Vacation by Jaimey" for 6th grade I will stop.

The End.

San Diego visit

My dad called us yesterday and offered to bring us down for a visit since we are both unemployed. Um YES! So we are leaving for San Diego on Wednesday! Yay! If you are in the area and want to get together, call me! If you don't have my number email me. :) (Not gonna post it, all the crazies will call... LOL)

On another note: I got a job at Target that was supposed to have Orientation tomorrow, but it was rescheduled and now I am rescheduling it again. It is only part time, unloading the trucks and stocking early in the mornings, but its something. I also have a second interview with a great daycare that I am really excited about, fingers crossed. I will know more about that later in the month.

Zack has a few hopeful prospects but nothing solid. So for now we are headed out for a lovely vaca, to hopefully forget that our reality is pretty crappy right now.

Happy Easter Jonathan!

Happy Easter and all Mommy and Daddy's love to our little boy. We love you!

Easter Morning!

Today was really special for us as a family. This was the first Easter that Grayson would be able to really participate in the fun. Not having a lot of money did not slow us in any way. We The Easter Bunny loaded his basket with all kinds of Dollar Tree goodies and some goodies I had picked up at toys r us online with leftover birthday money. (Thanks Grandma Linda B!)

We had also hidden eggs all over the first floor for G to find. I had put one on each of the steps from the landing down so he saw them as we went to get him excited. He needed little prompting from there and took off with his little basket to collect his loot! Which he proceeded to eat. a lot.

Then as he made his way to the Living room he bumped into these...

The Easter Bunny is a very messy bunny indeed! He left quite a few footprints on our floor. I was sure he would be a tidy bunny and wipe his feet but boy was I wrong!

At first Grayson was pretty unsure of these big prints we said were the bunnies, then as he found more eggs he would get egg-cited (LOL) and say "silly messy bunny, silly bunny dirty feet!" It was really cute. Ultimately, it ended up being a mess of powder and little baby prints but I didn't get a picture before Zack vacuumed it all up. :(

After Grayson devoured a bunch of candy for breakfast we headed to Vancouver WA for brunch at my Bonnie's parents house. (Thanks Bonnie- I stole this pic from her facebook page!)
In the early afternoon we came home and took a nap- a 3 hour nap! It was divine!
We hope you all had as great of an Easter as we did!

HAPPY EASTER!
love~ The Buquets

Easter Cake Pops!

I recently became addicted to Bakerella. She
does amazing things with cake and goodies. And she is where I got the idea for cake pops. Well, to be exact I got the idea from Geneva who got it from Bakerella. (this is the pic of Bakerella's cake pops) They are a lot of work but VERY yummy. I really wish you all lived closer, so I could give you some... crunch. crunch. except that they are gone. :)

An army of chicks!

I have more pics but I am having technical difficulties... please talk amongst yourselves. Or tune in later.

conversation with Grayson

*phone ringing*

Me: G, why don't you get that...

G: okay mama!

Me: but if you do- you get to talk, mama doesn't wanna talk...

G: okay (at the fruit bowl) this (tomato) Mama's phone?

Me: *laughing hysterically* no honey, that's a tomato!

Mommy's First

This is the first UN-prompted flower my son has ever given me! I hope there are many more to come! :) I love being a Mommy.

Nature walk gone wild

Last week G and I went over to Corie's house to play.
We had a lovely lunch and then decided to go down to the pond.

Corie and I were playing with the littler boys by the play structure when Callan came up asking if we knew anything

about THESE...

hard to tell how big they are from the pic, but they are about 8-12 inches long and a few inches thick.

They caught 3 at first and then the more we looked the more we found. We had a catch and release policy after the first few. Then as we worked our way around the pond I spotted these just under the surface. There were TONS.
When we got home we googled (how did we ever live without it?!) these little critters and turns out they are Oregon or Rough Skin Newts and the above sac is obviously its egg sac. We want to go back in a week or so and see if anything is wiggling in the sac. The eggs take about 20 days to gestate so they were fairly new as nothing was moving at all.

Amazingly, not only are these little critter poisonous, duh, yellow belly= danger! But they live to be 10-13 years old! So these huge ones we found were pretty old! Amazing! As grossed out as I was (no touching for me!) they are pretty cool!

And the Award goes to... ME

When I went to gTea last Wendesday I bought some g's for some out of state friends (they had some discontinued colors for less $) Because they were on sale, I wanted to keep my friends savings down so I tried to cram everything they bought in the smallest FLAT rate box possible.

This is Tory's. I got 3 g's, a wipes case, a bag and some other goodies in the tiny $4 box!

This is Janetta's, 4 g's a bag and a wipes case along with other goodies.

Here it is all squished into the box. LOTS OF TAPE!

Now as long as the post office doesn't mess up the tape all will be fine!
I just told them to expect an explosion when they open the boxes. :)

Grayson and his sand table

Being a mom means sometimes you gotta let loose and let the kid play outside in his jammies.

Lovey Doodle's

I had the pleasure of embroidering some g's for a friend out of state recently.
I think they turned out pretty cute!

Huston I think we have a problem

Something about being little makes you think anything is possible. Obviously its lack of experience to tell you otherwise but for whatever reason, Grayson, no matter how many times he tries seems to think he can fit ALL of his blankets into his "trunk"

and still ride the bike.

Who knew! I guess that's one point for him, not so much for me!
